At the beginning of May, a criminal case was opened against them under Part 1 of Article 85 of the Criminal Code – illegal collection of information, not subject to disclosure, for the purpose of transferring it to a foreign state or foreign organization directly or through the intermediary of another person.

According to the information obtained during the investigation, the individuals illegally collected and transferred information to the Russian intelligence services about other persons suspected of espionage in Latvia, for which a preventive measure was applied in the form of arrest .

One of those detained is Sergei Sidorov, who has been accused of spying for Russia.

On May 15, a preventive measure was applied to the suspects – detention.

We remind you that, according to media reports, Russia’s permanent representative to the EU, Kirill Logvinov, is probably a spy. He is suspected of secretly working against European interests and spying for Russian intelligence services.
