The General Staff reported that on the front line the Russian army continues offensive operations, and Ukrainian soldiers hold the line of defense and harshly respond to the actions of the invaders.
On Thursday, the number of military clashes increased to 79.
Ukrainian troops continue to confront the Russian offensive in the Kharkov direction, where since the beginning of the day Russia has attacked five times and continues to attempt to storm Ukrainian troops in the area of the city of Volchansk.
Four military clashes took place in the Kupyansk direction.
In the Liman direction, Russian troops somewhat increased the intensity of hostilities. The number of attacks has increased to five, one of which is still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian troops tried to break through the Ukrainian defense 13 times, launching an airstrike in the area of Vremenny Yar.
In the Kurakhovsky direction, Russian troops attempted to carry out assault operations eight times.
The defense forces successfully repelled all attacks near Konstantinovka, Novomikhailovka and Krasnohorivka, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement.
In the Vremiv direction, Russian troops tried eight times to push Ukrainian units back from positions in Staromayorsky, Nikolsky and Urozhayny, but retreated after receiving rebuff.
In the Dnieper direction, the Russian army does not abandon attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from Krynoki; since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian positions have been attacked six times. The statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine states that Russian troops suffered losses and retreated.
Let us remind you that on May 16, Vladimir Zelensky held a headquarters in Kharkov and met with soldiers of the 92nd separate assault brigade named after the chieftain Ivan Sirko – now they are defending the Kharkov region. The President heard a report from the brigade commander and noted the state awards of the soldiers.
