The Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out counterattack measures in the area of the city of Volchansk, Kharkov region.

This was reported today, May 16, in the construction of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is noted that in the Kharkov direction, from the beginning of the day, the enemy attacked in the direction of the village of Staritsa and launched missile attacks on Kharkov and Staraya Vodolaga.
Vilcha, Volchansk and Staritsa were hit by enemy aircraft.
“In turn, Ukrainian soldiers carried out counterattack measures in the area of the city of Volchansk,” the General Staff reported.
In other directions the situation is as follows:
- on Kupyansky, from the beginning of the day, three military clashes took place in the areas of Sinkovka, Ivanovka, and Berestovoy;
- on Limansky, two military clashes were recorded in the Novosadovoy area;
- at Seversky the number of enemy attacks increased to three. Military clashes took place near Zvanovka and Razdolevka;
- At Kramatorsk, enemy troops made 10 attempts to attack the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Grigorovka, Kleshchievka and Andreevka. An air strike was carried out in the Druzhba area. Despite the onslaught of the enemy, our soldiers continue to confidently hold back the enemy and, under favorable conditions, counterattack;
- On Pokrovsky the invaders are most active. Since the beginning of these days, 20 attacks have already been carried out, in particular, in the areas of the settlements of Novoaleksandrovka, Solovyevo, Netailovo and Umanskoye. The enemy deployed combat aircraft near Volchye, Vozdvizhenka and Novoaleksandrovka;
- At Kurakhovskaya, the Defense Forces successfully repelled seven enemy attacks. The invaders were active in the areas of Krasnogorovka, Novoaleksandrovka, Novomikhailiki and Konstantinovka;
- On Vremovsky, the occupiers made six attempts to storm Ukrainian positions near Nikolsky and Urozhainy, and near Staromayorsky, also with air support. The enemy had no luck;
- In the Dnieper direction, the invaders attacked five times near Krynoki, where they suffered losses, the data is being clarified. The enemy launched an air strike near the city of Kherson.
