Washington considers China’s actions in aiding Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine unacceptable.
The White House has expressed a tough stance on China’s actions in providing support to the Russian military-industrial complex to fuel an aggressive war against Ukraine. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said this in a briefing on Wednesday, May 15.
“I want to make one thing clear: we find it unacceptable that Chinese companies are helping Putin wage this war against Ukraine,” Jean-Pierre stressed.
Thus, he commented on the issues of relations between the Russian Federation and China, as well as the planned meeting of the leaders of the two countries this week.
The White House spokesman also emphasized that this position is supported by other Western countries.
As reported, Putin arrived in China on Wednesday night, and on Thursday he will hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in a narrow and broad format, as well as a tete-a-tete over tea.
Let’s recall that in early May, Chinese leader Xi Jinping completed his first European tour since 2019 (since the pre-Covid era), where he also visited France, Serbia and Hungary.
