The money from the new financial aid package can be used to buy weapons for Ukraine in other countries.
The United States has allocated a new financial aid package to Ukraine. The money will be used to purchase weapons for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this in a briefing with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba on Wednesday, May 15.
“We have additional aid, and this aid is already being delivered to Ukraine. I want to announce that we will provide an additional $2 billion in financial and military aid,” he said.
Blinken clarified that the money will be allocated through the defense industry fund. This will help Ukraine buy the necessary weapons, and will also be an investment in its military-industrial complex.
The US Secretary of State also added that funds from the new financial aid package could be used to buy weapons in other countries.
We remind you that on May 14, Antony Blinken arrived in Kyiv. He spoke about the security of the 10-year agreement with Ukraine that the United States plans to conclude.
