They received several gifts that members of the royal family who were officially performing their duties could not afford.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle broke one of the cardinal rules of royal protocol. This happened during a visit to Nigeria abroad, the New York Post reports.
The Dukes of Sussex arrived there in May 2024 at the invitation of the Chief of the Defense Staff. Prince Harry met with military veterans, and Meghan Markle organized a Women in Leadership event.
The couple received many gifts including art, clothing, jewelry and literature such as beaded necklaces, a wooden mask and books on Nigerian heritage from students and staff of Lightway Academy.
However, there are strict rules for royals receiving gifts. And Harry and his wife received clothes, local accessories, a bouquet of flowers, and scarves in the colors of the Nigerian flag. In total, this is more than 20 gifts, which members of the royal family who are officially performing their duties definitely cannot afford.
Let’s remember that the Fox channel released an episode of the animated series Family Guy, in which Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were critically ridiculed.
