In a plenary session of the Georgian parliament, where the scandalous law on “foreign agents” was considered, a scuffle took place between the deputies.
In the parliament of Georgia on Tuesday, May 14, during the final reading of the bill on “foreign agents,” disputes between representatives escalated into fights. The video was published by local publications.
During the debate, a heated argument broke out between the Georgian representatives. Subsequently, they escalated into physical clashes between representatives of the ruling party and the opposition.
A large-scale protest was taking place at the parliament walls at the time.
Let us remind you that today the Georgian parliament finally adopted the law on the transparency of foreign influence. 84 representatives voted “for”, 30 voted against.
The foreign influence transparency bill is similar to Russia’s “foreign agents” law, which has been used to crack down on critics of the Kremlin.
Protests against this bill have been taking place in Georgia since April. The protesters said they would not allow changes to the country’s pro-European course.
