The incident occurred at about 1:00 on May 14 near the Kotluban station. It is preliminary known that the train derailed “due to the intervention of unauthorized persons.” Eyewitnesses say the train was attacked by a drone. The Russian publication Baza writes about this.
It is noted that after the attack, two cars with fuel caught fire, and one tank exploded. After this, the fuel spilled and the grass caught fire. A total of nine train cars derailed.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations said that “there were no casualties.” The fire was localized, but it was not yet completely extinguished.
Let us recall that on the night of May 12, drones of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine hit the Volgograd Oil Refinery, the Kaluganefteprodukt oil depot in the village of Chelovekovo and the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant.
