The attempts of the Russian invaders to break the defenses of the Ukrainian troops were prevented, assured the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This week the situation in the Kharkov region worsened. While there, fighting continues in the border areas on the state’s border with the Russian Federation. This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky on Telegram on Sunday, May 12.
“The situation is difficult, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces are doing everything to hold defensive lines and positions and defeat the enemy,” he wrote.
According to Syrsky, the attempts of the Russian invaders to break the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were thwarted. He ensured that all necessary steps were taken to strengthen the defense and that decisions were made promptly, including personnel decisions.
Active fighting continues in the directions of Kupyansky, Seversky, Limansky, Pokrovsky, and the situation is changing very dynamically.
“In some areas the enemy had partial success, in others the Defense Force drove the enemy out and improved their tactical position,” Syrsky said.
In addition, in the direction of Kramatorsk the enemy does not abandon attempts to capture the city of Chasov Yar and continues offensive operations in the east of the settlement. The invaders are unsuccessfully trying to restore the lost position in the Kleshchievka area.
“Despite the difficult situation at the front, the units are being rotated for the remaining military personnel and the combat effectiveness of the brigades is being restored,” added the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As you know, in recent days the Russians have launched an offensive in the Kharkov region. The previous day, President Vladimir Zelensky announced counterattacks in this region.
At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced the resignation of several positions in the Kharkov region. According to DeepState, the invaders captured six villages.
