The incident occurred on the evening of May 11 on Independence Boulevard near the Red Market store. Two people were injured, one of them a police officer. The mayor of Brovary, Igor Sapozhko, reported this on Telegram.
Subsequently, the police of the Kyiv region informed on Facebook that the event occurred at about 21.00, and a grenade exploded. It is noted that law enforcement officers received a call about hooliganism. When they arrived at the scene of the call, the unknown attacker began to run away and threw a grenade towards the law enforcement officer who was catching up with him. As a result of the explosion, a policeman and the offender himself were injured.
Investigators charge the detainee with Art. 348 (attack on the life of a law enforcement officer) and Part 1 of Art. 263 (illegal production of military supplies, explosives or explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Let us remind you that in Lviv, during the dismantling of the roof, we came across ammunition from the Second World War – an F-1 hand grenade. The obsolete ammunition was destroyed by sappers of the State Emergency Situations Service.
