There are hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian men in Poland and their loss will affect the country’s economy.

Help from the Polish authorities in the return of Ukrainians liable for military service home may negatively affect the Polish economy, reports Forbes.

Thousands of Ukrainian citizens living in Poland could be forced to leave their jobs and join the army, which would affect the country’s economy.

In addition, there are growing fears that large numbers of them will try to leave Poland to avoid conscription.

It was found that of the more than one million Ukrainians who came to Poland since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022, 371 thousand were men of military age who, according to the law, could undergo compulsory military service.

Earlier, the Polish Ministry of Defense said Warsaw would help Ukraine return those liable for military service.

Polish Ambassador to Ukraine Jaroslaw Guzy said Ukrainian men of military age would not be forcibly returned from Poland, but Warsaw had not yet decided what to do with them.
