The head of the aggressor country will not gain anything from a nuclear strike, but will only lose – all his partners in Africa, Latin America and China will turn their backs on Russia. This was stated by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis, LRT reports.
He gains nothing from this, but loses everything. Some countries are on his side, or so he thinks. China clearly supports Russia, global partners in Latin America and Africa are also more likely to side with Putin. But if the threats become reality, the entire partnership will disappear in an instant,” he said.
At the same time, the Lithuanian diplomat noted that some leading states take such a position that could be disastrous. This path, Landsbergis noted, “could lead to a real conflict outside of Ukraine; other countries could be involved in it.”
Let us recall that on May 6, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that the United States of America considers the rhetoric of the Russian leadership, which announced training using tactical nuclear weapons, irresponsible. At the same time, Washington sees no signs of preparation for its use in the war against Ukraine.
