Australia will transfer a large batch of RBS 70 NG man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine as part of military aid. Defense Industry Europe reported this on Friday, May 10.
It is indicated that the air defense system is of Swedish manufacture. The complexes can destroy targets at a distance of up to 9 km and a height of up to 5 km.
The publication states that the supply of this type of weapons was announced during the visit of Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles to Lviv.
“The Minister of Defense did not disclose details about the number of RBS 70 NG launchers and ammunition to be supplied, as well as whether additional items, such as the Giraffe AMB air defense radar from the Swedish company Saab, will will be provided,” the statement said.
Marles also emphasized that Australia will provide Ukraine with a new defense aid package worth $100 million.
We remind you that Australia has contributed more than $32 million to the International Fund for Ukraine.
Previously, an Australian company produced and transferred to Ukraine the Slinger drone killer system.
