A strategic facility for the enemy is being developed near the city of Osipovichi, almost 190 km from the border with Ukraine. Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said in early 2023 that Russia would complete construction of a “special storage facility for tactical nuclear weapons” in Belarus. This was reported by The New York Times, which analyzed satellite images from Maxar.
It is noted that structures were recently built near Osipovichi that have features typical of nuclear storage facilities at bases inside Russia. This area has a high level of security, which is surrounded by three layers of fencing in addition to the existing security perimeter of the entire base. The satellite also recorded a cargo area that is connected to a hidden Soviet-era underground bunker.
Because nuclear programs are highly classified, it is possible that there are other places in Belarus where Russia stores warheads – and the Kremlin may even have moved some of them to the Osipovichi facility, although all indications are to the contrary, the newspaper writes.
The article also states that the site is located in the same city as the Belarusian Iskander missiles.
A former Pentagon employee told the NYT that these structures on the military base remind him of Russian nuclear warhead storage facilities that he saw in person.
Let us recall that in December 2023, self-proclaimed Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that all Russian nuclear weapons that the Kremlin planned to supply to Belarus were already in this country. The Russian nuclear weapon was then placed in the planned locations.
