Russian troops intensified shelling in the northern direction of the Kharkov region, including an attack on the city of Volchansk. The city is currently being evacuated. This was announced by the head of Kharkov OVA Oleg Sinegubov.
According to him, the shooting from UABs, MLRS and artillery continued throughout the night. Also, Russian troops tried to cross the border with DRG forces without success.
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine confidently hold their positions: not a single meter has been lost. The enemy group does not threaten Kharkov, its forces are only sufficient for provocations in the northern direction,” said the leader of the OVA.
He called on the civilian population of border communities to stay in shelters.
The head of Volchansk’s military administration, Tamaz Gambarashvili, added that Volchansk has been under heavy enemy fire since three o’clock in the morning.
“It is difficult to say from which settlements they fired No border crossing (by the Russians – ed.)… We are evacuating without children in the city,” said Gambarashvili.
As reported, on May 10, at 04:00 in the morning, active fighting began in the north of the Kharkov region in the direction of Kharkov and Volchansk. As our military said, the situation is predictable, so now it is difficult in this direction, but the situation is under control.
