Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Poland signed an agreement in Vilnius to strengthen control over compliance with European sanctions against the Russian Federation. Yle reports this in connection with the Finnish customs service.

“By signing the agreement, we want to show other countries and companies the importance of close cooperation for effective sanctions management and contribute to increasing the effectiveness of sanctions,” said Finnish Customs Director General Sami Rakshit.
It was previously reported that the US Treasury Department on May 1 announced sanctions against nearly 200 individuals and legal entities that contribute to Russia’s military-industrial complex and help it evade existing restrictions.
