A contingent of representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance is already present on the territory of Ukraine. We are talking about mentors and observers. This is what Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said while talking to journalists.
So, he answered their question if the UN could send its troops to Ukraine.
The Polish official recalled the war in Yugoslavia, where UN troops did not arrive, but NATO representatives participated and achieved an end to the war.
According to him, the UN is suitable for division, not war.
“Right now, as you know, I don’t want to directly intervene (in the war in Ukraine, – ed..), because I don’t want to send troops,” he said.
Tusk made it clear that NATO is helping Ukraine as much as possible.
The prime minister mentioned that a certain number of soldiers, observers and engineers from Poland’s NATO allies are on the territory of Ukraine, but he did not specify whose military personnel.
We remind you that the media said that NATO member countries planned to approve a declaration refusing to send troops to Ukraine.
