IVE’s agency, Starship Entertainment, will take new measures to improve member Jang Won Young’s security in response to recent threats
The agency of IVEStarship Entertainment, has taken steps to improve security in the face of online threats made to Jang Won Young, one of the members of the girl group. This Thursday, the 9th, an official statement was published by the agency. Check out:
Hello, this is Starship Entertainment.
Yesterday, a post made in an online community was published, threatening the safety of our artist and IVE member, Jang Won Young.
The post, which specified the date and time of the threat, was reported to the police, who began an investigation into the matter. We request a swift investigation and protective measures for our artist, and we are also prepared to take legal action as soon as the identity of the poster is confirmed.
To ensure the safety of our artists, we are recruiting additional security professionals, as well as reviewing security in our artists’ travel routes, residences and workplaces. In the future, we will intensify monitoring against any threats to the safety of our artists, and will respond accordingly to such occurrences.
We will continue to do our best to protect the safety of our artists in the future as well.”
The girl group IVE debuted in December 2021 through Starship Entertainment, and features two former members of IZ*ONE, a group formed by Mnet in 2018 during the “Produce 48” program: Yujin and Wonyoung. In addition to them, Rei, Leeseo, Liz and Gaeul They are also part of the girl group. Their most recent comeback took place in April 2024, with the mini-album “IVE SWITCH”.
