On the night of May 9, the enemy attacked with 20 attack UAVs of the Shahed-131/136 type from Cape Chauda in occupied Crimea. Anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 17 attack UAVs in the Odessa region. The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this on Telegram.
The head of the Nikolaev OVA, Vitaly Kim, said that as a result of a hit from the Russian “Shahed”, the building of the former cultural center in the village of Pervomaiskaya community was partially destroyed. The fire had already been extinguished.
Meanwhile, the Southern Defense Forces reported the liquidation of 121 occupiers and 23 pieces of weapons and military equipment. In particular, Ukrainian defenders destroyed five guns, 10 units of automobile and armored vehicles, one enemy aerial photographic station, a transformer, two boats, four field ammunition points and shot down four reconnaissance drones.
Let us recall that British intelligence reported that the Russians have modernized the X-101 cruise missiles, which aircraft most often use to attack Ukraine. These missiles were increased in lethality by adding a second warhead. It should increase the radius of damage from debris, although this upgrade also reduced the flight range.
