The dry cargo ship Azov Concord left the occupied city. Five more foreign ships remain in port.
On June 21, the Turkish ship Azov Concord left the occupied port of Mariupol. This was announced by the Turkish Ministry of Defense following negotiations with the Russian Federation in Moscow.
“The dry cargo ship Azov Concord was allowed to leave the port of Mariupol. The ship became the first foreign ship to leave the Ukrainian ports,” the ministry statement said.
According to Russian media, the ship flying the Maltese flag was heading to Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Territory, accompanied by Russian Navy ships.
Initially, the departure was set for June 18, but it was postponed because the ship owner allegedly did not pay for port services to the “DPR”.
In total, five foreign courts remain in Mariupol, including the Bulgarian Princesswhich should exit the port next.
It was previously reported that Turkey had talked to the Russian Federation on unblocking Ukrainian ports.
