A Russian woman complained to the police about Gordon Black – the American allegedly stole 200 thousand rubles from her and beat her.
American soldier Gordon Black, who was arrested in Russia, was detained following a complaint by his Russian girlfriend about theft and beatings. This was reported by the Astra Telegram channel on Wednesday, May 8.
Russian media learned the details of the relationship between US Army soldier Gordon Black, who was arrested in Vladivostok, and his girlfriend Alexandra Vashchuk, who was visited by the American from South Korea.
Vashchuk complained about Black to the police – he allegedly stole 200 thousand rubles from a US citizen and beat him. Black was charged with theft causing great harm. He faces up to 5 years in prison.
Journalists discovered Vashchuk’s accounts on social networks, where the girl said that she had lived in South Korea for 5 years. There he met Sergeant Black. The American has appeared in Vashchuk’s videos since at least 2021. In some videos, he ironically calls her “husband.” In another video – “Pindos”.
Black’s mother, Melody Jones, told American media that her son had flown to Vladivostok specifically to meet the woman. The military man wanted to reconcile with her after a fight. He was deported from South Korea, so Black had to go to Russia.
It was noted that Black was not the first person Vashchuk reported to the police. Journalists found evidence that in 2009 and 2015 the girl complained to the police about her mother – death threats and beatings. In 2016, Waschuk told police his neighbor crashed his car into another car in the yard.
Currently, the circumstances of combat instructor Black’s trip to the Russian Federation are currently being investigated by the US Army. He decided to go to Russia alone, taking advantage of the redeployment from Korea to Texas and despite the ban on such trips.
It was previously reported that a US serviceman who came to the Russian Federation from South Korea on personal business was detained in Vladivostok, Russia. He was accused of a “criminal act.”
Vladivostok court remanded American soldier Gordon Black until July 2 on theft charges.
As you know, last year in Yekaterinburg, Russia, Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich was detained on suspicion of espionage.
