The investigation by the Finnish police is related to an operation carried out in the field of information by the Russian special services in the summer of 2023.
Finnish police have launched an investigation into suspected crimes committed by officers linked to the intelligence activities of the Security Police (SUPO) and the Defense Forces. We are talking about the possible leakage of confidential information. This was reported by the Finnish publication Yle.
The Finnish newspaper Iltalehti states that the investigation concerns an operation carried out in the field of information by the Russian intelligence services in the summer of 2023 in cooperation with SUPO employees, who are likely Russian informants .
The head of SUPO’s counterintelligence department, Pertti Haaksluoto, and the former head of SUPO, Antti Pelttari, are also implicated in this case.
Haaksluoto’s computer was allegedly hacked, and confidential information fell into the hands of unauthorized persons.
Haaksluoto himself was removed from office on April 23.
