In the city of George (South Africa), a multi-storey building collapsed during construction, killing three people and trapping dozens under the rubble. The causes of the incident are being investigated. It was reported by Reuters.
The building collapsed in the city, 450 kilometers east of Cape Town, on Monday, Western Cape Chief Minister Alan Winde said. At the time of the incident, 75 construction workers were working there.
Rescuers got 24 people, who were later sent to hospitals. 51 people still remain blocked.
According to the BBC, the rescue operation continues. Officials said they contacted some of those trapped under the rubble and brought in heavy lifting equipment and sniffer dogs to aid in the operation.
