The Chinese leader will support a peace conference in Ukraine if Moscow and Kyiv advocate for its holding at the same time.
China favors the path of negotiations and will support a peace conference if all parties are united and recognized by Ukraine and the Russian Federation. This is what Chinese leader Xi Jinping said, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“Sometimes, we advocate holding an international peace conference, if such a conference is jointly supported by Ukraine and Russia under favorable circumstances,” he said after negotiations in Paris with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Xi Jinping added that in such a conference all parties should be equal. Here, in his opinion, “for the sake of fairness, all settlement options should be considered.”
The Chinese leader supported the idea of ending armed conflicts in the world during the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
We remind you that the Peace Summit will take place on June 15-16 in Switzerland. The Ukrainian side expects that 80-100 countries of the world will participate in this event. Russia was not invited to participate in the Global Peace Summit, and China’s participation will be very important, the Office of the President said.
