Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky announced this today, May 6, on his Facebook page.
It is here that the main striking forces of the enemy are concentrated, trying to break through the defenses of our troops and, building on their success, reach the large settlements of Kurakhovo and Pokrovsk,” Syrsky emphasized.
According to him, the enemy, having from the very beginning a numerical advantage in personnel, weapons and military equipment, attacks the positions of Ukrainian troops every day.
Our task in these conditions is to hold the occupied lines and positions, using artillery fire, attack UAVs and all means to inflict maximum losses on the enemy, deplete him, thereby disrupting enemy plans and gaining time for the formation and preparation of our reserves,” emphasized the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Syrsky noted that, due to the difficult situation in the East, he worked for two days in units conducting defensive operations in these areas.
“When working with brigade commanders and their subordinates, he made all the necessary decisions to strengthen the defense with reserves, allocate additional missiles, ammunition, electronic warfare equipment and UAVs,” he noted. “I’m sure this will help our units successfully repel enemy attacks and inflict significant losses on him.”
