Finland responded to information that Russia was planning sabotage on the territory of European countries. Helsinki is confident that in this way Moscow seeks to undermine European support for Ukraine. The Deputy Head of the Finnish Security Police (Supo) Teem Turunen said this on Sunday, May 5, Yle wrote.
He noted that Finland itself is not immune from such actions of the Russian Federation, but noted that his country is not a priority for Russia.
“Russia’s special interest is related to supporting Ukraine. It is not Finland that is interested in Russia, but the unity of the West in supporting Ukraine,” added Turunen.
He suggests that Moscow’s targets could be logistics facilities through which aid moves for Ukraine.
“We warned a few months ago during the publication of our annual report that we should expect more aggressive and hostile influence attempts from Russia. This is exactly,” Turunen emphasized.
