China may pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine. This was said by the head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radoslaw Sikorski, in an interview with the BBC.
The Polish minister suggested that the war in Ukraine will end only when Putin understands that “the cost of prolonging it in terms of human life and financial costs is higher than the goal he wants to achieve.”
At the same time, according to Sikorsky, the war in Ukraine will not end in the near future.
“There is no shortage of potential mediators – Turkey, the UN can actually force Putin to end this war, but I don’t see any signs that Putin wants to negotiate,” said the Polish Foreign Minister.
Let’s remember that the White House previously said that China is not ready to work to achieve a fair peace between Russia and Ukraine.
As you know, the first Global Peace Summit will be held on June 15-16 in Switzerland. The Ukrainian side expects that 80-100 countries of the world will participate in this event. Russia was not invited to participate in the Global Peace Summit, and China’s participation will be very important, the Office of the President said.
