The find was made on April 22 in a ravine near the village of Flora in the Podolsk region, according to the Facebook page of the Odessa Local History NGO.
The treasure consists of 140 silver coins (akche), which were minted in Crimea in the 1480s during the reign of Khan Mengli Giray I, the report says.
It is noted that the coins were in a pot at a depth of 40 cm. On top it was covered with limestone tiles of natural origin, square in shape, approximately 20x20x5 cm. Most likely, the treasure was hidden during the Podolsk raids of the Crimean Tatars.
The find is now undergoing a detailed study and description, after which it is planned to be transferred to the Podolsk City Museum of Local Lore in the Odessa region, the report notes.
