In June, the countries participating in the Peace Summit must develop a common position for negotiations with Russia.
At the Global Peace Summit, which will take place on June 15-16 in Switzerland, a joint negotiating position will be developed and transferred to Russia. This was reported by Deutsche Welle in connection with the presidential spokesman Sergei Nikiforov.
“Ukraine and Switzerland are organizing a peace summit, where the countries of the world that respect international law and the UN Charter should develop a common negotiating position and transfer it to Russia. This will be the first step towards a just world,” Nikiforov said, commenting on the words of the deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Vadim Skibitsky about the negotiations with the Russian Federation.
On May 2, Skibitsky said, in an interview with The Economist, that he sees no possibility of Ukraine winning the war on the battlefield. He noted that such wars can only end in treaties. The parties are fighting for “an advantageous position” ahead of potential negotiations. But significant negotiations, as a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate, can begin no earlier than the second half of 2025.
Earlier, President Vladimir Zelensky named the three main issues to be discussed at the Peace Summit.
