An audit of the activities of the Borodyansky Village Council revealed damage amounting to UAH 19.8 million. These funds were used to restore this settlement, which was very badly damaged as a result of Russian shelling at the very beginning of a full-scale war. This was reported by the press service of the Northern Office of the State Audit Service.
The auditors found that the village council must install metal-plastic windows worth UAH 14 million. However, this was not done. Moreover, the work is carried out at significantly higher prices than market prices. Thus, 5.2 million UAH of budget funds were used ineffectively.
It was also established that, according to the checklists under the “Restoration” program, money in the amount of UAH 2.6 million was provided for the repair of damaged houses. But the same amount, according to the accounts, was spent on the same work, which led to their actual doubling.
This approach to inefficient use of public funds causes individuals to receive double funding at the expense of other taxpayers, the State Audit Service noted.
The auditors forwarded information about the violations discovered to the Attorney General’s Office.
Let us remind you that the DBI exposed a criminal group in Kyiv that organized transactions with clothing and equipment for one of the city’s territorial defense brigades. The attackers stole body armor, helmets, winter and summer sets of clothing and shoes worth at least UAH 3.6 million.
