In April, the Ukrainian military recorded 444 cases of enemy use of ammunition containing hazardous chemicals. This is 71 cases more than in March of this year. The main delivery method is the use of drones, predominantly dropping K-51. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced this on Facebook on May 3.
It is noted that during the period from February 2023 to April 2024, 1 thousand 891 cases of use of chemical weapons by the Russian Federation were recorded.
The enemy continues to use ammunition containing dangerous chemicals, thereby violating the “Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling, Use of Chemical Weapons and Their Destruction,” as well as the laws and customs of warfare, the General Staff noted.
Let us recall that on May 1, the US State Department imposed sanctions against Russia for the use of chemical weapons in Ukraine. Washington admitted that the occupiers used the chemical weapon chloropicrin against Ukrainian troops in violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention.
