German manufacturer Hensoldt will transfer six more TRML-4D air surveillance radars to the Defense Forces for the needs of Ukrainian air defense. The cost of purchasing six TRML-4D radars is more than 100 million euros. The radars should be delivered to Ukraine in 2024. This was reported by the press service of the radar manufacturer Hensoldt.
TRML-4D is a medium-range C-band radar of the TRML family, developed in 2018. This radar can detect, track and classify various types of air targets – cruise missiles, as well as aircraft and helicopters maneuvering or flying at low altitudes. In total, it can detect up to 1 thousand 500 targets within a radius of 250 km.
This system is special in that it can operate independently and thus detect air targets. TRML-4D can interact with IRIS-T air defense systems.
Let us recall that on April 16, the head of the arms company Diehl Defense, Helmut Rauch, announced the transfer of another Iris-T SLM anti-aircraft missile system to Ukraine. Three such systems are already in service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
