The needs for the restoration of Ukraine after the Russian invasion reached $486 billion, Denis Shmygal recalled.
In Ukraine, more than 250 thousand residential buildings were destroyed and damaged during the massive Russian invasion. Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal said this at a government meeting on Friday, May 3.
“During a massive war, the enemy destroyed or damaged more than 250 thousand residential buildings, up to 4 thousand schools, more than a thousand hospitals and many other facilities,” he said.
Shmygal recalled that according to the RDNA-3 assessment made at the World Bank, the needs for restoration amounted to $486 billion.
The head of government stressed that Ukraine’s position is unchanging and principled – Russia must pay everything in full.
“President Vladimir Zelensky has set a clear task to ensure that Russian assets frozen in the West are directed in favor of Ukraine,” he added.
