The press service of the State Tax Service reported this today, May 3.
Border guards, together with customs officers, prevented the export of the Antonius Stradivarius violin made in 1713 abroad, the report says. — The group found a musical instrument in the luggage compartment of a car that was heading to Poland.
The violin was seized and sent for examination.
Antonio Stradivari was an Italian maker of stringed instruments who lived in the second half of the 17th and early 18th centuries. His instruments are distinguished by their particularly pure sound and are highly valued by connoisseurs.
