China is not ready to work to achieve a just peace between Russia and Ukraine. White House Strategic Communications Advisor John Kirby said this on Thursday, May 2, Voice of America reports.
He noted that the United States welcomes the efforts of any country to end the war in Ukraine, taking into account the peace formula proposed by Kiev.
“Washington will support Beijing if it expresses a desire to work towards a just world and respect the goals and objectives of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky But I would be wrong if I told you that we actually see China moving in this direction – We haven’t seen anything like this,” Kirby said.
He made it clear that the United States, for its part, will continue to help Ukraine defend itself from Russian aggression and will strive to achieve peace that meets the goals of the Ukrainian people.
Russia was not invited to participate in the Global Peace Summit, and China’s participation will be very important. Ukraine is doing everything to attract Chinese representatives to participate in the event. This is what the head of the Presidential Office, Andrey Yermak, said.
We remind you that the Peace Summit will be held on June 15-16 in Switzerland. The Ukrainian side expects that 80-100 countries of the world will participate in this event.
