According to the department, the 48-year-old driver left his car, from which they planned to distribute ice cream to children, unattended, it drove down the mountain and crashed into a group of hundreds of people, most of whom were children.
According to the head of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Alymkadyr Beishenaliev, children from 9 to 16 years old were injured as a result of the incident.
The incident occurred in the village of Zherge-Tal in the Jalal-Abad region during a republican competition, where hundreds of children read excerpts from the Kyrgyz epic “Manas”.
The truck is supposed to distribute ice cream to those present from the side. According to the driver, he parked the car above the place where the event was held. It is still unknown why the car rolled down and rammed the children, police said.
