Peace in the South Caucasus was achieved by normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the leader of Azerbaijan believes.
Azerbaijan is actively working to achieve peace in Armenia. This is what the President of the country Ilham Aliyev said in Baku at the opening of the VI World Forum Dialogue for peace and global security on Wednesday, May 1.
“Negotiations are being conducted based on a document prepared by Azerbaijan… Currently, we are observing a positive trend in the peace process. Border delimitation has begun, but also border demarcation. he assured.
According to him, the delimitation and demarcation of the border is carried out based on the agreements of the two countries, without intermediaries.
Aliyev added that peace in the South Caucasus was achieved only because of the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Let’s recall that according to the agreements reached following the 8th meeting of the commissions of Armenia and Azerbaijan on the delimitation of the state border, the expert groups of the two border countries began the process of clarifying the coordinates based on geodetic measurements on the ground. .
Let’s add that Russian peacekeepers began to leave the territory of the previously unrecognized republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, which Azerbaijan returned under its control.
Official spokesmen in Moscow were extremely reluctant to comment on the departure of the “peacekeepers” from Nagorno-Karabakh.
