By the end of 2024, Lithuania plans to build six underground schools in Ukraine. The head of Lithuanian programs Co-create Future of Ukraine Arturas Zarnovskis said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
Zarnovskis said that we are talking about front-line regions that are constantly under attack.
“There will be school shelters there that are safe for wartime. Peacetime shelters can be used as multifunctional places – sports, entertainment, etc.,” said Žarnovskis.

Zarnovskis noted the importance of such projects for the socialization of children, because due to the full invasion of Russia, and before that the coronavirus pandemic, in some Ukrainian regions there were fourth graders who were not yet physically who went to school.
It was previously reported that safe conditions for personal study need to be created for another 300 thousand students. For children who remain in online learning, decisions will be made that will improve the quality of learning.
