The enemy attacked the regional center with an Iskander ballistic missile with a cluster warhead. Metal fragments and debris from the rocket scattered within a radius of 1.5 km from the shelling site. The enemy’s use of these indiscriminate weapons could result in significant civilian casualties. This was stated by Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.
The investigation has reason to believe that the decision to use just such weapons was made deliberately by officers from the Russian Federation in order to kill as many Ukrainian civilians as possible,” he noted.
The Prosecutor General promised that those who give criminal orders to shell peaceful Ukrainian cities will be found and punished.
Kostin emphasized that the aggressor country neglects all the norms of international humanitarian law. I recalled that yesterday Russia killed five people in Odessa, and more than 30 were injured. The victims included two children and a pregnant woman. Five wounded are in critical condition.
Let us remind you that on the evening of April 29, Russian troops attacked Odessa with ballistic weapons. As a result of the strike, civilian infrastructure was damaged: residential buildings and the palace of the Odessa Law Academy, better known as “Harry Potter’s Castle.”
