The increase in tariffs made it possible to balance the energy system, which received 3 GW. This allowed the system to be balanced between supply and demand. Necessary repairs were also made. All this allowed the heating season to pass safely. Deputy Energy Minister Nikolai Kolesnik announced this on April 28 during a telethon.
Also, the reason for the rise in prices influenced the fact that the Ukrainian population began to use electricity sparingly.
This is a set of actions. First of all, there was an opportunity to economically balance the subjects of the electric energy market, due to which they had the financial ability to carry out restoration measures, prepare for the heating season, and properly repair the campaign, in particular repairing damaged equipment from preliminary shelling,” the official said.
Let us remind you that on April 26, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine extended the preferential price for electricity for the Ukrainian population until May 31. The cost of electricity for household users remains unchanged – 2 UAH 64 kopecks. per kW.
