In Ukraine, from May 1, the rule on the need to turn on daytime running lights or low beams outside populated areas remains in force.

    .

The National Police of Ukraine recalled this on April 27.

Previously, daytime running lights were a requirement for vehicle traffic between October and May. However, last fall, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine removed the temporary restrictions and now the above-mentioned norm is valid year-round at any time of the day.

The Patrol Police explained that this practice has shown good results in EU countries. Statistics show that the use of daytime running lights reduces the number of accidents during daylight hours. The number of accidents decreased by 10-15%.
