Business Insider says that the enemy’s advance on Ocheretino was made possible by a mistake by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
A mistake by the Ukrainian defenders allowed the Russian invaders to advance and capture large parts of the village of Ocheretino in the Donetsk region. This was reported by Business Insider.
At issue is the rotation error involving the elite Ukrainian 47th Mechanized Brigade and 115th Mechanized Brigade east of the settlement: when the 47th retreated, the Russian 30th Motorized Rifle Brigade attacked, taking advantage of the gap left by the unscheduled arrival of the 115th.
“The sharp advance of the Russians became possible due to the fact that individual units just fell, I hope that they will be retrained as paratroopers,” wrote Nikolai Melnik, the commander of the 47th, who lost his leg during the summer offensive. Facebook.
The spokesman of the 115th brigade, Vadim Cherny, told the Financial Times that the accusations were “untrue” and that the unit itself “did not surrender its positions.”
Melnik said it was the 47th brigade that halted the Russian advance as it returned to the battle.
“The holes were filled by those who planned to rest. The 47th brigade will return to work in another month, and it will be a year without rotation,” the commander was angry.
Earlier, Nazar Voloshin, spokesman of the Khortitsa group of troops, reported that the Russians had captured a place in part of the village of Ocheretino, Donetsk region.
