Helping Ukraine bring military-age Ukrainians home could be “ethically ambiguous” for Poland.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said this on TVN24 on the evening of Saturday, April 27, answering the question whether Poland will help Ukraine in “transporting” Ukrainians of mobilization age home.
Here Ukraine really needs to take the initiative, because for us this is a morally ambiguous issue. Although, of course, we understand that Ukraine needs its defenders to defend its homeland,” Sikorsky noted, quoted by Ukrinform.
According to him, he is not yet aware of Ukrainian initiatives after the adoption of the law on mobilization.
At the same time, Sikorsky noted that in December last year, when he visited Kyiv for the first time as minister, the Ukrainian side spoke about a slightly different approach to resolving this situation.
Namely, that they will have a certificate for their citizens stating that someone has a regulated relationship with military service. And they asked that those who do not have such a certificate should not continue to receive social payments at the EU level,” Sikorsky noted, calling this idea “interesting.”
Kyiv did not contact Warsaw with a request for the return of Ukrainian men of military age.
This was stated by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Vasily Zvarych on TVN24, answering the question of whether Kyiv will need help in transporting citizens whose documents are expired.
Earlier, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamisz said that the country was ready to help Ukraine with the return of men of military age. According to him, Poland has already offered to help Ukraine facilitate the return of men to their country to fulfill their civic duty.
