A law enforcement officer opened fire on his colleagues at a police station in the Turkish city of Adiyaman on Saturday night, April 27. The incident left two dead and eight others wounded. Turkish media Halk TV reported this.

According to preliminary data, a police officer shot a senior inspector and team leader with a pistol in the head. The remaining officers stopped the shooter by shooting him in the legs.

The media learned that the attacker had a fight with the chief inspector of the police department and the leader of the group assigned to the execution site.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya responded to the incident and noted that the perpetrator had been taken into custody. He said a policeman seriously injured the chief of police headquarters and the head of the public security department with his own weapon.

“Despite all the interventions made at the hospital, (they) could not be saved and, unfortunately, (they) died,” he wrote.

The head of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs added that the investigation into this fact is underway.

Earlier, in Svetlovodsk, Kirovograd region, a man snatched a service weapon from a patrolman who came on a call and committed suicide.

A shooting took place in Zhitomir, in which a man was injured. He later died in the hospital.
