Ukraine’s Ambassador to Warsaw, Vasily Zvarych, said official Kyiv had not contacted Poland about the return of Ukrainian men of military age.
The Ambassador spoke to TVN 24 about the impact of the updated law on the mobilization of foreign Ukrainians. When asked if Ukraine will need assistance in the transportation of citizens whose documents have expired, the ambassador replied that Kyiv did not make such a request on the Polish side.
“We will wait I think everything will be fine, without panic,” said the ambassador.
“We cannot force anyone. The main thing for us is that the implementation of the mobilization action is effective and clear, so that everyone knows what we are talking about. ” Zvarych said, adding that people “have nothing to fear.”
He stressed that estimates of the number of Ukrainian men of military age in Poland are currently “very approximate.”
“According to our estimates, there are tens of thousands of people of military age in Poland alone but we will be confident when this law is implemented and when everyone can confirm their data at the collection points,” said of the ambassador.
When asked if the men had to return to Ukraine to register for military service, the ambassador replied that it was not necessary.
“We have temporarily suspended the acceptance of new applications from men of military age in order to prepare technically Once the new law is implemented, everyone will know how to update their data. There is an idea that this can be done remotely.
We remind you that Poland will continue temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees. In particular, this applies to Ukrainians who do not have a passport.
