Strong tornadoes hit the US states of Nebraska and Iowa. At least three people were injured, CNN reported yesterday.
As of 9:30 pm Friday, the National Weather Service had received at least 60 reports of tornadoes in five states, 19 reports of damaging winds and 45 reports of hail.
Iowa Gov. declared yesterday. Kim Reynolds was a disaster for Pottawattamie County due to bad weather. The announcement is aimed at supporting post-hurricane recovery efforts in the city of Minden.
On Friday, a tornado also touched down around Lincoln, Nebraska, tearing roofs off homes.
Several trains were derailed near Waverly, Nebraska after a tornado hit the train.
Strong storms are expected to continue through Sunday, but the deadliest day could be Saturday, when the threat stretches from Michigan to Texas, including the cities of Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Dallas, Milwaukee, Chicago and Austin.
It is known that storms can produce damaging wind gusts, baseball-sized hail and powerful tornadoes.
Recall that in December in the US state of Tennessee, strong tornadoes killed at least six people. Another 23 people were hospitalized.
In the US, a four-month-old baby survived after being caught in a tornado
