Japan has joined the international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children deported by Russia. This was announced by Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets on Telegram on Saturday, April 27.
He noted that this coalition is now supported by all G7 member countries.
“With very strong help from international partners, we will increase our efforts and ensure high-quality implementation of the fourth point of the Ukrainian peace formula, the release of prisoners and deportees,” wrote by Lubinets.
The Ombudsman recalled that the coalition for the return of Ukrainian children was launched in Kyiv on February 2, 2024. It is a common initiative between Ukraine and Canada. 36 countries have joined the coalition.
We remind you that the Ukrainian authorities have established the names of almost 20 thousand children abducted by Russia.
In March 2023, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ombudswoman Maria Lvovskaya-Belova for the deportation of Ukrainian children.
