The state can make any decisions based on the need for safety, noted Mikhail Podolyak.
The position of the Ukrainian state on restrictions for men abroad is clear: there are no distant documents for men of military age. The adviser to the head of the Presidential Office, Mikhail Podolyak, said this in an interview with Channel 24 on Friday, April 26.
He noted that Ukrainians will have to wait for further clarification on the work of consular services from the moment the new mobilization law comes into effect.
However, as Podolyak noted, the position of the state remains unchanged – the documents will be issued only on the territory of Ukraine.
“The state has a very clear position – there are no distant documents. Please, go and receive these documents on the spot,” he said.
According to Podolyak, there was no such thing as a “Warsaw Maidan”, but “there were only people who fled.”
“Perhaps they have the right to do this – legally and illegally, because I understand the fear that there will be no” revenge” from Ukraine is a state that is now at war on its territory, defends itself and has the full right to use whatever the mechanisms to increase their chances of survival,” he emphasized.
The adviser to the head of the OP ensured that the state was carrying out work only within its powers.
“Any citizen of Ukraine, even if he fled illegally at the beginning of the war, has certain responsibilities and the state insists that, in addition to the right to use its services, a citizen of Ukraine is obliged to understand his responsibility or make appropriate decisions for himself,” said Podolyak.
He does not accept misconceptions about the fact that the state can or cannot do something, can or cannot perform certain service functions through the State Document or consulates.
“The state can make any decisions because of the need for survival,” concluded Podolyak.
We remind you that on April 11, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the mobilization law in the second reading, it was signed by the president and published. The new law will take effect on May 18.
It was later learned that Ukrainian consulates had stopped providing services to men of mobilization age. Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba also commented on this information.
