The package of new American military aid to the Ukrainian Armed Forces will include ATACMS missiles and air defense systems.
The new US military aid package will include long-range ATACMS missiles and vital air defense systems. President Vladimir Zelensky said this in an evening video message on Wednesday, April 24.
“The other day, we worked as actively as possible with our American friends – at all levels, to quickly fill this package from the United States with the exact weapons that our soldiers need from ATACMS and artillery, from anti-tank weapons and missiles for HIMARS to the necessary air defense and equipment”, said the head of state.
Zelensky thanked US President Joe Biden, as well as other Americans for supporting Ukraine.
“Today we will do everything to compensate for the six months that have passed in the debate, in doubt about what the Russian occupier has done during this time, what Putin is planning now, we must abandon him,” the president said.
Let us remind you that at night the US Senate finally voted for aid to Ukraine. Before this, on April 20, the US House of Representatives passed a bill to provide nearly $61 billion in aid to Ukraine. Most of this huge amount will go to military support. Today, US President Joe Biden signed a law providing aid to Ukraine.
The media reported that ATACMS long-range missiles were in the first US aid package for Ukraine. But they are not listed in the list published by the Pentagon.
