Rada increased the number of State Border Guard Service by 15 thousand

Today the total number of the State Border Service of Ukraine will reach 75 thousand people.

The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law to increase the number of State Border Service of Ukraine (SBSU) by 15 thousand military personnel. This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Telegram on April 24.

According to him, the corresponding document No. 11091 was supported by 327 people’s representatives.

“The total strength of the State Border Service of Ukraine within a year from the date of termination or removal of martial law on the territory of Ukraine will reach 75,000 people, including up to 67,000 military personnel,” he wrote.

As mentioned in the explanatory note, the purpose of the law is to form and develop the combat reserves of the State Border Guard Service as part of the Defense Forces and ensure its readiness in the post-war period to control the state border. within internationally recognized limits and adequately respond with available forces and means to current and potential threats to national security.

We remind you that on April 16, President Vladimir Zelensky signed the mobilization law. It will take effect one month after signing – in mid-May.
